Doglog 24.04.2010
2010.04.27.

Spring has arrived at last, and so the wheather is changeable. During last week the employees of Novartis Ltd spent a day at the shelter and were busy with the cleaning and painting. At the weekend the big spring cleaning was organized. But let’s see first the stories of our new residents! Unfortunately, the animal shelter is totally full so at the moment it is very difficult to find housing for any of the unlucky, abandoned animals that are looking for a home.

A number of injured and sick animals came under our care this week.

Galiba was found in Visegrád, he came to us after a long time on the waiting list. He is still untrusting with people. His vaccination has been started, he is neutered and chipped, and waiting for adoption.

Missy also came to us from the waiting list. She is an American bulldog and Dogo Argentino mixed breed. She used to live with children, and was given to us due to family reasons. Now she is under medical care as her ears are ill.

Zsombor spent all his life on the street. Now he is taken good care of by a temporary adopter. He is a very active dog, perfect for guarding tasks. We give him for adoption only to such owners who will let him enter the house. He is vaccinated and neutered.

Pipacs (Poppy) was found at the road beside the cemetery in Kispest. She has neither a chip nor an identification tattoo. We are looking for her original owner for two weeks.

Bubi is a 2-3 year-old Spitz who came to us from the Sad Heart Foundation in Gyömrő. He is still untrusting, does not really appreciate human company.

Römi is a ca. one year-old, small-sized bitch who came to us from the Sad Heart Foundation in Gyömrő. She is very shy, but hopefully we’ll gain her trust soon.

Nocsi was found in Monor. She was injured, there was a large open wound on her haunch. Now she is under medical treatment. For two weeks we are looking for her original owner!
If you would like to support Nocsi’s medical treatment with a however small amount of money, please make your donation to the following Hungarian bank account:
OTP 11710002-20083777
It is also possible to donate money online on the main webpage of the shelter.
In the note section, please write "Nocsi".
You can also support Nocsi by adopting her virtually!

Fibi also came to us from Gyömrő, the Sad Heart Foundation. She was hit by a car on Road 405. We took her to the vet immediately and the examination showed that her pelvis was broken on several spots. Her tibia was also broken, her sacrum was dislocated and her anus paralysed.
If you would like to support Fibi’s medical treatment with a however small amount of money, please make your donation to the following Hungarian bank account:
OTP 11710002-20083777
It is also possible to donate money online on the main webpage of the shelter.
In the note section, please write "Fibi".
You can also support Fibi by adopting her virtually!

Vacak (Rinky-Dink) is a one month-old buck who was thrown out of a car. He is a very friendly puppy who enjoys to be cuddled. He is used to being transported by car and walks nicely on the leash. He is also litter trained. He is vaccinated, chipped and neutered, and looking for a loving owner.

Trimester the cat was brought to us in a very bad condition. She was seriously injured. Her injuries were not new, and unfortunately her right hind leg had to be amputed. Despite the traumas she’s a kind, active cat, very much interested in people. We only give her for adoption to owners who’ll keep her in a flat. She is neutered.

Bonbon the cat simply walked into the garden of one of our volunteers, making it clear that he wanted to live there. One of his eyes is injured but it is not serious and can be cured with eye drops. He is a kind, friendly cat. He is neutered.

Three kittens, Olivia, Thomas and Alex were left at the gates of the shelter in a paper box. Now they are taken care of by a temporary adopter.

There were also some happy moments during the week. Let’s see some pics of the hard work:

Thank you to all volunteers and animal friends who helped us with the cleaning.

And now let’s see a short video about the 2nd Meeting of our Dog Adopters!

A new event was organized within the framework of our educational program: our volunteers visited the Gulner Gyula Elementary School and joined the children in the celebration of Earth Day.

Talking about the next generations – here are some pics of the youngest residents of our shelter:

We would like to draw your attention to a new way to support us!
You can help by clicking and using a Google-based searching site, as well as by making this site: http://keresve.hu/noeallatotthon your home page. This does not cost a penny, all you have to do is to click!

This is a broadly used and accepted method of support abroad which is, however, new in Hungary. By using this page as your home page, you influence the amount of money the site receives from advertisements, and through this, the amount of money that is given to the shelter. The keresve.hu site gives an opportunity to those who do not have the necessary financial sources, time or energy, to support the shelter. Please support us by using this free way of donation!

The money the site's owner (World Development Foundation) receives from advertisements is distributed among the registered civil organizations (and among them, our shelter) according to the visitors' votes. The statistics of the site will be publicly available.
