Doglog 03.04.2010
2010.04.07.

The most difficult part of writing every weeks' entry is who should we start with? Usually we name the new animals that have come under our care in the last week – let's see, then, who has arrived to us.

Suzy was given up by her owner because he is moving to another place. She is friendly with other dogs and people, and trusts humans without a second thought. Until now she lived in a garden so it is not certain to what extent she is litter trained but she will certainly learn it quickly. We would like to give her to a family where she will be a beloved family member until the end of her life. She is now vaccinated and neutralized, and ready for adoption.

Szörnyecske (Little Monster) was thrown out of a white Mercedes in the 18th district. Those who witnessed the incident took her to a vet. She is not older than 6-8 weeks but she suffers from a serious demodex. Her head, breast and legs are highly infected.

Bazil is a 1-2 year-old shih-tzu male. He was picked up on Nagykőrösi Road, at the entrance of the M5 highway. His fur is unbeliveably neglected, and he has no microchip. Otherwise he is a human-oriented, friendly little dog. His original owner can take him home if he or she shows the dog's certificate of inoculation. Please call us at the 0036 30 221 1299 phone number.

Radar was picked up by an animal friend in Szigethalom. He is a very active little dog, has an incredible amount of energy. He loves courting females.

Devlon was found in the 17th district. We are looking for his original owner for two weeks. His original owner can take him home if he or she shows the dog's certificate of inoculation and can describe the dog. Please call us at the 0036 30 221 1299 phone number.

Our days were were going by as usual when all of a sudden everything seemed to come crashing down on us when some of our very active volunteers who work at the shelter every day had to stay away for a while due to family reasons and other problems. Luckily, we were helped out by a number of enthusiastic student volunteers who, as spring break is already here, were able to make up for the shortage of our personnel. We are very grateful that they sacrificed their precious free time out of school and helped us!

On Saturday the Noah's Ark Adoption Day was organized in the ZooDom pet store at Lurdy House. Unfortunately not many people were interested in our dogs even though some really cute little doggies were there for adoption. Two of them, however, Sanyi and one of the Powerpuff Girls, found a new home!

The work didn't stop at the shelter – we started to make the foundations of the new Bulldog Shelter.

Hopefully nobody forgot about the upcoming events!

18 April the 2nd Noah's Ark Dog Meeting will be held in the shelter. In connection with this event, we asked some volunteers to help us with enveloping the invitations last Saturday. Thank you for all who joined in!

A Donation Concert will take place in the "After" Music Club.

15 May the 1st Meeting for Dog Lovers will be held at Rákosmente, with a drawing contest for children. Read the details HERE!

Don't forget that the animal shelter is open also on Sunday, all animal friends are welcome between 10 am and 14 pm. All we ask for is, if you would like to walk one of our dogs, bring a leash with you, as we do not have enough!

We would like to draw your attention to a new way to support us!
You can help by clicking and using a Google-based searching site, as well as by making this site: http://keresve.hu/noeallatotthon your home page. This does not cost a penny, all you have to do is to click!

This is a broadly used and accepted method of support abroad which is, however, new in Hungary. By using this page as your home page, you influence the amount of money the site receives from advertisements, and through this, the amount of money that is given to the shelter. The keresve.hu site gives an opportunity to those who do not have the necessary financial sources, time or energy, to support the shelter. Please support us by using this free way of donation!

The money the site's owner (World Development Foundation) receives from advertisements is distributed among the registered civil organizations (and among them, our shelter) according to the visitors' votes. The statistics of the site will be publicly available.
