A shocking story!
2020.03.09.

A shocking story... but things are never just black and white.

Last November a mother dog and her 4 puppies came into our care from Isaszeg. The babies were about 5 weeks old and we gave them the name Kaspó Family. The owner of the mother dog has died and she became an orphan and a local animal rescue group has asked for our help. We knew that one of the puppies has "disappeared" and was not found until now. It turns out that a very poor deaf-mute family took her in. They have loved her and tried to bring her up but they couldn't keep her safe. We had a name for her then Kuffer Kaspó. Then lightening struc and due to the bad fence and that she went into early heat it was easy for the male dogs to come in and use her young body which caused her serious case of vaginal prolapse. The family didn't have money so she was not taken to the vet for a long time. Kuffer was not vaccinated, she didn't have a chip in her even though she was older then 6 months old. 😞
We were mad until we went to get her and we say that yes the modest but tidy house and garden. We could only communicate with the couple in writing. They showed us the paper that they took the dog to the vet who suggested surgery but they didn't have the money for it. It was clear that they couldn't take care of her and they realized that too. They signed her over to us and with heavy hearts they said goodbye to her. It wasn't easy for us either because we do understand that even poor people like to have dogs and cats but it is important to assess that if one can provide and take care of them for 10-20 years...

Of course we took Kuffer to the Délpesti Állatgyógyászati Központ és Sebészeti Centrumba Clinic where she was operated on immediately in order to save her life. It looks like that her young body is recovering well but we are still worried because she is not vaccinated so keep your fingers crossed for her and hopefully she will not get sick again.

Please, support her treatment and recovery!
