Sole has new health issues!

Poor Sole has difficulty healing from dirofilaria immitis and now he has other issues as well. On one of his toes he had a wound which was treated but despite the antibiotics and the sugar bandage the wound didn't heal so the possibility is that he has cancer. The wound is getting bigger and it has already attacked the periosteum so the onyl solution is amputation which our miracle worker vet Dr. Boda has done.
We are double worried now. First of all we are waiting for the biopsy result and hoping it is not cancer. Second of all last week it was confirmed that he still has heartworms in his lung arteries and anesthesia is extra risky and only the coming days will tell if any of the worms have gotten into his heart.

So we are keeping all of our fingers crossed for him. He has been through a lot but he is still a lovely, sweet, cuddly clown dog who just wants to be loved and wants his very own loving family. Our heart breaks for him!
