Dog Log 31.12.2012-13.01.2013
2013.01.14.

Our first report in the new year is about dogs who ran away because of the new Year’s Eve fireworks. Our life has been about this recently. Our voluteers have been trying to send these runaways back home since 31st of December. We have a topic on Facebook for missing and found dogs and try to help them going home by sharing the photos.
Of course a lot of dogs arrived to the Shelter as well, although we don’t have enough space. Unfortunately only one of them’s owner was found ( it didn’t have a chip). The others have no chip or those who have, they aren’t registered. It’s disappointing…However, every dog which is older than four months has to have microchip as it has been compulsary since 1st of January.

We have a feeling that some of the dogs who are on the streets nowadays have been sent away because the owners don’t want to pay 3500 HUF for the chip

Let’s see the arrived dogs:

Lavina is an about 10 months old labrador style female dog. She was found on Határ Road, Pécel on 1 January 2013.

Séró is an about one year old terrier style male dog. He was found at Rákoshegy railway crossing in the 17th District on 1 January 2013.

Zsinór is an about one and a half years old small male dog. He was wearing a black linen collar. He was found in the 17th District on 3 January 2013.

Jack is an about one year old dachshund style male dog. He was found at Újlak Street in the 17th District on 5 January 2013.

Lavor is a black labrador mix female dog who has a white ’vest patch’. She was found at Helikopter housing estate on 8 January 2013. She had a brown, shabby, wired dog collar around her neck.

Nyájas is an about two years old Dachshund style (with longer legs) female dog. She was found at the Gyál exit of M0 motorway. She was shaking among the cars on the road. She has a chip but unfortunately it’s not registered in the national database so it’s worth nothing. 

Kótyag is a very old pekingese ? style male dog who was found at Fábián Street in the 16 District. He sat down in front of a stairway and poor little old thing was shivering there. Beside his age he is full of wounds which refer to some kind of skin disease. He was in a terrible condition so we took him to the vet.

Zuzó must be the son of a pekingese and a pug  He was probably born in March 2012 and he was found in Vecsés on 10 January 2013.

Furi is an about 3-4 years old Westi male dog without a dog collar or any special earmarks. His original owner was found so he could go home as a happy dog with a chip.

There are dogs who didn’t arrive because of the firework and the season of abandoned puppies is here again …

Ostya is an about eight months old shar-pei style female dog. She was found the Pécel hightway ramp of M0 on 1 January 2013. She was seen and fed at a half ready house in Liliom Street, Pécel. He left that place on 30th December.

Molly was found before Christmas on Budapest’s streets. People tried to find her original owner for a month without any success. She was probably born in September 2012 as a terrier style dog. As she is young she plays a lot, she is nice and funny. She will probably be a mediume sized or big dog.

Tapasz was left here by his original owner. He is a six years old, overweight, Belgian shepard style male dog. We offer him for an experienced person who has a family house.

Tojás and Tanker were left not far from the Shelter a few weeks ago. It took some time to catch them but thanks to one of our voluteers they finally got dog collars. Tojás was probably born in 2008, she is a tiger stripped, medium sized mixed female dog.

Tanker was probably born in 2008, she is a black, medium sized mixed female dog with tiger stripes on her legs.

Zsiga and Zaci were probably born in October 2012 and they are mixed male dogs. As they are young they love to play, they are nice and funny. They will probably be medium sized or big dogs.

The Panel babies were found in a box at a stairway in Újlak Street on 13 January 2013 so we are NOT looking for their original owner. Their vitality and mobility and vim are just like other puppies: they play in one minute and sleep in the other one.

Tódor and Timót are about 3-4 months old Geolden retriever style male dogs. They will probably be big dogs.

Csongor Heléna and her sister, Meléna were found at Csongor Street in the 18th District by animal lovers. Both of them are females who look at the world through their huge, frightened eyes.

Not so many new owners arrived but of course we are happy for all of them.

Iskolás Pan

Mitymók is very lucky. He didn’t have to spend a minute at the Shelter. His temporary owner decided to keep him. After being spayed they decide not to give him to anyone and they signed the permanent contract.

AAAND!
Be aware, a miracle is coming! :D
Here’s an other Noah’s miracle. Sony is a more than fifteen! years old Dutchshund mix dog whose shape is like a cigar. His beloved owner with whom he got old died and there was no one who would look after him. That’s how he became the oldest member of the Noah’s Pensioners’ Club and the real descendant of our beloved and gone Uncle Szuli. (Frankly, anytime I saw him ont he yard I saw Uncle Szuli in him). Anyway, although we were looking for a new owner for him, we didn’t really think that there would be anyone who wanted a more than fifteen-year-old dog….
But one day an ANGEL came and saw Sony and immediately fell in love with him. She regularly came to visit him so they could get to know each other as Sony is an old, crabby gentleman and it wasn’t easy to win his heart. Finally he was taken home. So Ladies and Gents: Sony has an owner! 
The new owner took photos about their first day together and wrote down Sony’s thoughts about what happened!

"Hello there,
I’m sending photos about Sony’s first few days so you can be as happy as we are! 
The first photo is about the morning when my new owner came for me to Noah’s so when we were left out early in the morning, she was there. The second photo is about me, saying good bye to my caregivers and the others. I didn’t really understand why this big, two-legged creature wanted to get me out of the yard but I left with her. 
The next picture is about how good it was for me at the Shelter, they loved me and one of my little friends escorted me to the car. I needed some help to get into the car and I told my new owner that I didn’t like to be grabbed under my first two legs. She put me in the big rolling box on the way I like. First it was very scary but my owner kept stroking me and said that everything was OK, we were on our way home.
You can see my journey home. There was lovely warm in the car and I enjoyed the trip! So I laid down and I was relaxed. Then I was taken out of the car so I could jump into a puddle!!! 
The next photo was taken in my new home. There was a bowl for me with water and I was very glad for that. I got some food as well but I didn’t understand where the bucket was? May I touch it? Later it turner out I may because my owner put sausage bites in there. I looked around and it was very exciting. I saw where my owner sleeps and I chose my own place as well.
I didn’t like what came next because my owner and her sister put me in a big, white bathtub where there was water. The water was lovely warm but I really wanted to leave that place. I stayed there only because I got so much caress!!!
After having a bath I was dried by a towel and my hairs was brusher. I liked it very much but I didn’t really find my place. And I was hungry as well because I had been brought here before breakfast.
Finally I got sausage and they cooked chicken wings for me!
This is my new bed.  I got a soft blanket. My new owner is funny though, because when she saw that I was cold as I wasn’t properly dry she put the blanket on me. It was so warm that I fall asleep right away!
She will take me to my previous vet in the afternoon where we went with my old owner so they may remember me. My belly is full now and it’s warm here all the time and I love being here. It’s just weird that my friends and caregivers are not here!
Thank you for taking care of me and finding me a new owner!
Love,
Sony"

We are wishing you several happy years with your new owner grumpy!

Unfortunately we have bad news as well.

Aunt Hetty is gone 
A lot of you think of her and prayed for her even those who didn’t know her. Frankly, it wasn’t so specific as she was so scared of people that she was hiding somewhere all the time. Sometimes under a container or in the stable.
We don’t know what had happened to her but he arrived here with serious injuries. Her wounds healed but her soul didn’t.
She suddenly got sick, her belly was swollen. The tests showed anomalies almost at her evey organ but none of them were deadly. Her body simply stopped working, she didn’t want to life in this world anymore. When it was obvious that there was no hope for her I immediately rushed there because I didn’t want her to be alone at that point. But she wanted to do it alone and she had died by the time I got there. Good bye Aunt Hatty, be happy over there…we will never forget you.!

We had to say goodbye to our clubfooted little Dutchshund, Donald. Donald arrived here with serious injuries. He was probably hit by a car and his hip was broken. He recovered from this injury but the trouble came after that. First we found a small wound on his nose which didn’t want to disappear and started to spread. The wounds appeared on his paws as well so we thought that it wasn’t a simple injury. The tests showed that he had autoimmune desease. Although he got medicine the desease escalated, attacked his organs, he had a life saving surgery but he never woke up from the anesthesia. We will never forget this happy little man with his odd, bandy legs and shiny hairs. Be happy over there!

We haven’t logged in with our rider summary for a while. It’s not because nothing has happened … in the contrary! Something always happens to Debi and the Animals Christmas was there too.
Our horses wrote their own letter to Santa so they may get something they really need. A lot of Angels decided to give presents to our horses.

Something weird happened to Rico, our hermaphrodite goat whose leg got hurt. First we asked our horses’ blacksmith to take a look at Rico’s nails. He found and opened a nasty abscess in one of his nails but he didn’t want to do more without a vet.
Finally Rico had an X-Ray (just like out other horses)

He also got medcine. It turned out that the third phalanges in his nails are not regular and also the horn case on his first left nail is disabled. We try to help him by manicure at the moment but if nothing helps he may get a horseshoe.

The Noah’s Supporters Club gave 4.720.000 Huf to the Animal Shelter in 2012. Thank you for your help. We are waiting for candidates to the TKlub, let’s get together for the residents of Noah’s Animal Shelter!

Many of you may remember Nárcisz, whose soul and body were broken when she was found in the middle of a forrest. Well, she logged in after three months with her new, loving family:

’Do you know what’s Christmas? People keep telling that we only have to sleep a few more times and we will get a great thing but they don’t tell us what. Well, I can’t wait, I wonder what’s this about…’

I talked so much about the doggy staff that I almost forgot about our first event. We had never had anything like that before but we are sure we will have more!

The charity mountain bike competition for Noah’s Animal Shelter started at half to 1 am on 1 January 2013. The weather wasn’t too good neither to the organizers nor to the competitors but you know very well that cold weather doesn’t mean that we can’t make good atmosphere.
