Hearing of the second degree starts of the horse killer from Érd
2012.05.03.
3rd May 2012, Thursday is the first day of the hearing of the second degree of Sz. László, the horse killer from Érd.
In the summer of 2010 the killer coldly stabbed the horse many times called Felhő, in front of the eyes of its very young owner in the street. The horse died immediately. The girl was shocked. Her mother informed the police, the vet and the animal protectors.
Although nothing could have been done for Felhő on the spot, but the other three horses owned by Sz. László were immediately taken away from him. The horses were in a terrible state so they were taken to Noah Animal Shelter.
The verdict after the first hearing found Sz. László guilty in all counts and sentenced him to one year conviction but it was suspended for two years. Both parties appealed against the verdict.
On 20th June, 2010, after a short dispute, Sz. László coldly stabbed Felhő many times. The dispute started because the killer kept the horse within inappropriate conditions. The owners of the horse paid for keeping the horse there but they wanted to take the horse somewhere else because of the above mentioned reasons. When they told this to Sz. László, the man started to stab the horse in front of the child owner’s eyes.
As it turned out after the examination of the police and vet on the spot, there were three other horses’ life in danger because of the inappropriate circumstances, famishing and mistreatment. The tragedy of Felhő saved their lives because after this terrible event, Ajtony, Váratlan and Topáz were immediately taken away and became taken care of by Noah Animal Shelter. The state of the three horses became better very slowly because they had been kept among terrible circumstances for a very long time. At the moment, they are recovering in the newest rehabilitation center of the Noah Animal Shelter in the country. You can read about it HERE!
The Local Government of Érd started a prosecution against Sz. László because of bad conditions of keeping animals. The result is absolutely negative, he was forbidden to keep animals but the maximum animal protection fine of HUF 200 000 was defined in HUF 10 000. This was the first shocking resolution in this case.
Parallel with this, the police investigation appeared in front of the court. The trial was full of emotions and events. On the first day of the trial Sz. László threatened the owners of Felhő. He did not show any sign of regret. Moreover, he said he felt sorry for not leaving the dead horse on the spot because he could have been able to feed his dogs with it. In spite of these facts, the final day of the trial became closed in the defence of the defendant so those who were interested, together with the animal protectors and the press could only participate at the announcement of the verdict.
The Court of First Instance found Sz. László guilty in all counts. The verdict was to sentence him to one year conviction but to the great flabbergast of the audience it was suspended for two years. Both parties appealed to the verdict.
In spite of the earlier resolutions, Sz. László still keeps horses and accepts jobs such as horse riding for fee and some similar ones.
The second instance will take place: 3rd May, 2012, Thursday, 9 a.m. Budapest, XIV. Thököly út 97-101. Considering the light and powerless verdict, we would like to ask help from the media and public opinion. Do not let the coldly stabbing killer, who was proved to abuse animals coming through it without any punishment.
