Let’s begin with really good and happy news. The oldest dog of our Animal Shelter, Sultan, alias Uncle Suly had his birthday just in the last days. The number of his years are not less than 18! Our volunteers gave him some delicacy as a present with the leading of Beard Mom, and what is more there was a birthday congratulation poem among the gifts, too.
Unfortunately after the happy news we also have some sad one. Some of our foster-pet had walked across the rainbow bridge and left to the other side. Our oldest tenant was Jet. Since November of 2003 he has been living here in the Animal Shelter. As the phrase goes he did not have a charmed life. He was only one and a half years old when he got to us and he spent all his life here. One of his leg was needed to be amputated because of a dog attack, and many times he became sick because of his serious kidney disease. In the last 9 years he was avoided by potential fosters. However, in spite of his many difficulties he was lucky because he had an Angel, Anikó who cared him. He was living in the asylum but he had an owner. There was someone who pampered and cared him, took him to the doctor when he was sick and carried him in a papoose when we had demonstration on the World Animal Day. Whose care and love pulled him through so many crisis. Today Jet left us to the other side of the rainbow bridge. Anikó we offer our condolence to you, thank you very much for loving, looking after and caring him for so many years. We are sure that now he is tearing about on the other side and thinking of you. Goodbye Jet!
Anikó’s note: Today afternoon Jet passed away. Saturday afternoon a pig tossed him aside and one of his rib has broken. Unfortunately he had liver deficiency so it was impossible to operate him – today he gave up. We loved you so much,my dear Jety, Anikó and Péter
More thousands of you were worrying about our dog Matrona and helped her. The 14 years old boxer matron was found in Isaszeg, as she has drawn herself in the freezing winter deaf and blind. We were hoping that maybe she will live some more, but unfortunately not. However she walked through the rainbow bridge in warm safety and peace.
Altough Pikoló the totally smashed puppy was the protégé of our Mini Shelter, all the angels of NOÉ were flurried about his survive. Unfortunately he did not make it.
Today we awoke to a terrible fact – Pikoló died. We were shocked and did not understand it. In the evening he was fine, vigorous but in the night he fell asleep. His small broken body gave up the fight for life. In turn he was a real wonder himself, because all the parts of his tiny body had been broken, when he was run over by a car. Unfortunately he did not experienced good things in his short life. He got out onto the streets when he was a small puppy and with a mercy he survived a running over. He was broken and got to „Illatos Street” shelter. There he was examined and operated and spent some time in hospital. He spent only his last days in warm place and among loving, caring hands. Probably one of his inner organ was injured and that caused this sudden tragedy. Good bye, Pikoló, beyond the Rainbow Bridge you do not have pain anymore! Be happy and careless puppy, chase the butterflies and play a lot, cavort a lot! Live a life as it is usual for a young puppy. We will never forget you.
About two weeks ago we asked help for Debi who needed operation. Her story is available HERE. Our request for help and our facebook appeal had the result and so many persons joined to the purpose for collecting the needed money for the operation as we calculated before. Thank you so much to all animal protector in the country and to everybody at horse care, and especially for our english friends: thank you Nat and Karen! Since then Debi arrived to the animal clinic and her checkup is going on.
Altough Zsele dog was officially a Mini Shelter dog, his arriving back to the animal shelter shocked everybody so much, that I had the idea I should publicate here his deterrent story.
„I am really sorry, Zsele. I feel ashamed. So much. You had a family, you were living in a flat for 7 years and now you are outside in the cold and you have no idea what is happening to you… … Our Zsele dog was brought back to the shelter today at noon without a word, after being a „flatdog” for seven years!!! In the morning they called and told us that they will come, and they came. They said that the dog once snarled to the kid yesterday….( at his temporary host the dog was escpecially friendly to children before, he loved them and there was no problem for 7 years). Simply he was not needed anymore. He was thrown away like a piece of garbage.” But there is also some good news among the bad ones: Zsele could move to a foster family, so he needed to spend only some few days outside in the cold. We hope that he will find peace in a family environment.
A new wonder is brewing in the NOÉ. Pulcsi the lame dog would like to steal the show from Füstös.
Pulcsi got into our care in the beginning of December 2011. A car run over him on road no. 4 and they left him there. Some animal friend found the little lame dog.
There was already an operation but he need to work a lot until he can come and go on four feet like Füstös who already has shown us that there are wonders indeed. If you do not know the story of Füstös, you can read it HERE.
According to the medical re-examinations we can have confidence about his treatment. 6 weeks after his operation Pulcsi is wagging his tail and he can scramble to his feet more and more times.
Mica, the cat is also a member of our rehabilitation team
He needs to fight a lot, because his muscles are withered and his two back legs are a mere skin and bone. It will need a lot of training, stimulating the nerves – so a lot of energy and time to succeed and make him walk on four feet and run. Those who know us they can be sure that nothing is impossible for us Some pictures from the unusual phisioteraphy:
News about our previous tenants: Dear Noe Workers! It is time to send some news about Cudar („Rascally” ) dog after one and a half year, who is really not rascally, moreover… After we adopted him, he got the name Cefre („Wine-mash”) just like his brother.
Cefre dog (briefly Cef, nickname is Tökmag /Titch/) became a beautiful, medium-statured, miniature german shepherd. Extremely obedient, dutiful dog and he is house-trained since the beginning. He is very insistent on each member of the family, but I am his favourite. He is staying with us indoor, he does not need to live outside even summer time – but if it is good weather we send him out to skip outside until we are away. It happened on some occasion that he climbed out through the fence and followed us, but we made him to quit doing this so later we could let him behind without worry. He got used staying alone after (roaring for) a few days, and there was only one victim of this: the corner of the door. By now he got used being alone at home. His stomach is sensitive a little bit so he usually get pet food and we give only a very few of our own food as a titbit and very carefully. Travelling by car was a little problem in young age because of his stomach before, but in the last half year there is no „accident” any more.
He loves to chew and teared up at least 10 pair of slippers and we always need to give him some chewing bones. He was very shy when got here but he became more relaxed since then – sometimes he is a little bit mistrustful with strangers (human and dogs too) but i f he got to know them he fall on their neck. He eat quite a lot, twice a day and sometimes he guzzles up the portion of a much bigger dog but usually he skips a lot so he does not need to care his figure. He has a flaw: he likes to wake up early morning. :) Cefre – in Tihany – on a walking tour in the spring of 2011
Best wishes: Dorka Fekete
We adopted Döme (his former name is Doc) from you in October 2009. They found him and his siblings as they were on their lonesome and only few days old. During the last 2 and a half years he grew up to a beauty having around 40 kg weight. Extremely intelligent dog, he completed more dog school and we are planning some more course. Thank you very much for those who gave a chance to him and his siblings and cared and saved the only few days old little puppies!
Bimbi arrived to the shelter in October 2011. His owner brought him here in a very bad condition with some skin disease.
We began his treatment and of course seeking for an owner too. He had luck with a new german owner, who arrived personally and took him during the Christmas celebrations. These pictures just arrived accompanying a big package of chocolate and a letter from the owner where he render thanks for Bimbi, the dream dog. As we are watching the photos we can say to him thank you that you turned that little naked dog into this beauty Thank you :D
Our new family member is Eper („Strawberry”)! The little fairy just arrived today but all the members of the family is in love with her already! She is not only beautiful but also very clever like a real princess. She already explored the garden and has endless energy, she loves to play. Learns new things very fast and very grateful for every kind word and stroke. THANK YOU, NOE WORKERS!
We got some heart fondler kindness from one of our angels, Nóri who is 13 years old:
NOÉ Animal Shelter Foundation „A place where each dog can find an owner, A place which the dog can never forget, A new life, a new chance, Waits for the dog and the cat, if comes to Noé. I am only 13 years old, but I am on the side of animals! Nóri”
Jerry the beautiful german shepherd arrived here in the summer of 2011 terribly thin. He was left in a sublet by „careful” owners. After he got to our shelter he soon became fine. Autumn time he strayed from us (if someone has known him before can know that he was one of the dogs who welcomed the guests arrived to the shelter), but by now he came home to the harbor. But still SEEK for an OWNER! Moreover he is not only back, but he had luck and now already has an owner.
As we have already reported before, Dia and Króm doggies are fighting with the dreaded disease. They came through some successful operation, radiation teraphy and now their cemoteraphy is going on. They had their second treatment in the last week. Both of them are fine now, they reacted well to the teraphy and there are no side effects.
And now here is the most cheerful heading – newly adopted ones with photos: The office furniture which was missing – Suszter
Szonja
Duci

Our celebrity fox Azil put his pen again on paper and in his usual egoistic but lovely style wrote us some informal words.
Yeeeeeah, I am back again! I know that you were terribly missing me and I am sure that some of you effected cutting you veins when you watched the website and you could see…. that you can not see anything. There are no new notes, no articles, absolutely anything about me…. Well, now I am here, so leave this sad period behind and let us be happy because there are news again about me!
In the last days we found some old photos about me. From my puppyhood…. my first thought was that it is very sticky. But then I realized that it is impossible. I can not be sticky, I can be only hyper cute! So here they are, look at them. I was very sweet and lovely and and and nice, even more than today.
Look at those eyes! I had such a cute cheeks and daddy also fondled me more. That time I still lived together with them…. and not here… outside…. in the kennel… in the cold….alone… and he still wonders when I do not let him to catch me. Pooh….

We have run out of food!
The freezing cold weather in the country has effect on our animal shelter too.
Wintertime we cook every day to the animals in order to give warm food . Unfortunately the meat ingredients run out, the freezers are empty!
With a high number of animals we need 350 kg meat every day in order to feed our tenants.
We are very grateful for any kind of meat donation, like chicken back end. The delivery of a high quantity of meat (over 300 kg) we can provide in the range of the animal shelter (Budapest, Maglód, Pécel,….) Contact the mail address info@noeallatotthon.hu or the phone number +36/30-911-9402. Thank you!
Income tax return is coming soon. For you it is only a minute – for us this is survival! Will you remember us this year again? Our tax 1 % campaign will start soon, and it is worth to remember:
