Pösze, this little girl weighing only 4kg, born in August 2024, came to the care of the Noé Animal Shelter Foundation from the Szirák / Erdőtarcsa area, thanks to local animal advocate Tünde Marietta Tóth. Pösze is missing a large part of her lower jaw, which is why her tongue sticks out of her mouth abnormally.
We don't know what happened to her, we know that she and her siblings were born on a farm. The locals wanted to save them last year, but due to lack of space, they could only help them there. In the last picture from January, Pösze is still a beautiful, healthy puppy. Then the puppies disappeared... They were not found for 2 months, and then they were found a few days ago. Pösze is in this condition. They had to be trapped, even though they were still children. This tiny, emaciated, weakened, and in pain little thing walked into the open trap on its own. As if it knew, this was its last hope!
Its condition is shocking, but what is perhaps even more painful is that despite being only a few months old, it screams and fears human proximity and touch. It arrived at the Csipet-Csapat Veterinary Center immediately.
Pösze has undergone three surgeries. This is only a temporary solution, but it is already a huge step forward. The two freely moving jawbone stems were fixed to each other with threaded skewers. And the torn and shrunken intermediate soft tissues (mucosa and skin) were placed back on the bone. In the case of Pösze, Dr. Ipolyi also uses antibiotic-free, regenerative medicine. This means that the wound is washed twice a day exclusively with a sterile infusion of Salsol, and the healing is aided by serum made from Pösze's own blood.
This temporary solution is already a huge step forward:
🙏 Pösze can eat very skillfully
🙏 Much less pain needs to be alleviated
🙏 Just like her body, her little soul is also healing! She is already starting to play with her “half-finished” jaw.
It will be very long, challenging and very, very expensive! This scared little girl needs to LIVE, she needs to be HAPPY! Little Pösze said goodbye to the wonderful team of the Csipet-Csapat Veterinary Center for a while and moved into the hospital ward of the Noé Animal Home Foundation.
Pösze is currently still not available for adoption, but you can inquire about her at info@noeallatotthon.hu.
