Marki came to our care as a surrendered dog, born in May 2020, a Great Dane male mix dog. He was rescued from a puppy farm by a familye at the age of 14 weeks. We do not want to lye and we admit he is a problematic dog.
His previous owners have provided some information about his behaviour.
✅ He has an adorable look
✅ is hungry for love and gives just as much back
✅loves to play
✅ was a garden dog, loves to run and is a good watchdog
✅ Can be kissed, cuddled, a real love ball
✅doesn't chew anything up, guards his toys carefully
✅ very smart, knows and can use lots of commands, a high-five machine
✅ can be called in
✅ eats slowly, gently, blinks nicely to keep him stroked for a long time
✅ housebroken
✅ travels calmly in the car
Unfortunately, besides the many good qualities, there are also some problematic things, which we have started to test in order to find a solution for his adoption.
- In certain situations he can be aggressive towards people
- his food must be kept in a lockable room
- if he smells something in the yard, he will fight
- may bite on high hand swings, distrustful of men
First experience, pulls unacceptably when on a lead, but when he is off the leach ha comes back when he is called. Takes treats gently from hand. We took him to a group of people where he met 5 strange men. He didn't like one of them, he immediately barked at him, but was not aggressive, did not want to attack him, but rather backed away. We managed to calm him down with two words. Some people even went up to him for a gentle pat. He approached the girls very bravely, with a big smile, he smeared all his saliva on them and gave them kisses. He is a very loving, affectionate dog and has so much potential. Uneducated, that's the only problem with him, otherwise he is wonderful on the outside, wonderful on the inside. He is a grown up baby. He is very determined to please and is looking for someone to look up to and that could be a man. He would need an owner who, besides loving him very much, would keep him firmly, whether male or female. Also after testing we would not recommend him with a cat and a small child.
In conclusion, Márki is not an easy case, but not in the hopeless category...
Márki is vaccinated, neutered and chipped and looking for a competent and loving owner!
