A black German Shepherd female dog was found in a terrible condition. The dog had been seen, fed and people tried to get help for several days.
The poor dog had an old open fracture in one of her back legs which had become completely infected. She was feverish, skinny, had fleas all over her, and her breasts and diaphragm showed that she may have given birth a few weeks ago, but she was not actively raising babies. After a quick consultation, within a few hours she arrived from Szirák to the care of the Noah's Animal Home Foundation, where we named her Somersby.
Naturally, she was immediately taken to the hospital, the Juhász Pet Clinic. After assessing her condition - saving her life - her infected leg had to be amputated. A terrible loss, but it was her only chance to live...
Somersby is now in our Animal Home, her stitches have been removed and we have been able to start her vaccination programme. Lab tests have revealed that she is also infected with heartworm. We will continue to investigate this.
Somersby is still very young, full of energy and presumably has never been taught anything. Unfortunately, her lack of this is showing. She is very friendly with people, but does not like solitude and confinement. She has an unbelievable way of opening doors and shredding blankets to bits.
We are especially looking for owners who are not afraid of the challenges of raising a young dog and can spend time training her and fitting her into the family, keeping her needs in mind. Somersby is a very smart, trainable beauty. Dog school is highly recommended!
She can be adopted vaccinated, chipped and neutered.
To inquire about her and to book an appointment, call 06 30 221 12 99, Monday to Saturday between 10 am and 3 pm, or visit info@noeallatotthon.hu.
