If you have questions about Lunita, please send an e-mail to !
Lunita first came to our animal hom on the 12th of February, 2012. She was found as a puppy in Budapest. Her original owner was never found so we looked for a new one and she was rehomed not long after.
Not so long ago we have received a call through the Illatos út city pound in Budapest from the 16th district Mayor's office that one of our protegé's (Lunita's) owner has died. There are no heirs so Lunita came back to us. Fortunately one of our collegaues decided to foster her and she took her home.
So far the story would have been good under the circumstances BUT our collegaue has called and said that something isn't right with urine. It is hard for her to pee, she pees a lot and not much plus her pee is pink. We took her to the vet where she was examined and we were shocked to find out that she has an urinary stone of the size of osrich egg! Even our very experienced vets have never seen a urinary stone that big. It was more then 500g! She was operated on immediately. Because of the huge size the stone had to be cut up into smaller pieces so it could be removed. The surgery went well and Lunita woke well. She also peed the next day. The next week will be risky and we are keeping our fingers crossed for her. We are hopefull that she will recover well and her bladder can recover and be flexible again. We have sent the stone to the lab in order to find out what kind it is but it is most likely she will need to take medication and eat special food for the rest of her life.
Lunita has lived in a flat all of her life. She is friendly, well mannered and calm. We are looking for a family for her where she will be treated as a full member and where she will be loved for as long as she lives.
