Trouble with Harmat again 💔 She is the wonderful Rottweiler girl who came to the Noah Animal Shelter Foundation from the city pound of Miskolc with a huge tumour more than 1 year ago. The tumour was removed and everything seemed to be fine. Unfortunately, during the summer they had to remove his severely enlarged spleen. Fortunately the lesion was not malignant, but it was still a huge operation. We were beginning to feel reassured that he was finally over all the bad stuff. But last night she started to bloat. We knew exactly what that meant - a stomach twist! 😢 We rushed her to the Csipet-Csapat Veterinary Centre, because every minute counts. After a quick examination, she was on the operating table within minutes. Although they did a preventative procedure on her stomach during the summer splenectomy surgery, unfortunately it's rare that this still happens.
She was fine after the operation, she woke up quite well. We now have to put her on infusion therapy for days. For the time being she can't eat or drink. We should start to load her stomach very slowly and carefully.
The next 48-72 hours are still critical, but sweet darling Harmat is a real iron lady. But we feel that now she and we deserve a peaceful retirement...
Keep your fingers crossed for this wonderful dog, who despite all she has been through in her life, remains a sweet, kind, balanced, wonderful dog.
Harmat's overnight surgery cost 100.000Ft, plus the cost of several days of aftercare. We would like to ask for your help in raising the funds for her veterinary costs.
