A Shar-Pei male born around 2021, rescued by a team of football fans against animal cruelty, was brought into our care. He was named Ivanov.

A call for help was received from the Kazincbarcika area that a dog had suffered a traumatic injury and needed to be taken to hospital. The fans took him to the University of Veterinary Medicine, where it was determined that he had a spinal injury. He will need surgery, a plate will be placed on his vertebrae to fix his spine. For now, until the surgery is scheduled, he is now safely on medication for the pain.

Ivan is not yet adoptable as he will need further orthopaedic tests and probably surgery. We hope that if he does need surgery he will no longer have any permanent mobility limitations.

We hope to find a family for him as soon as possible after his recovery, where he will receive the care and love he has probably not really received so far.
